About
Boutique. Principal-led.
Operator expertise in every domain.
Strategic Value Inflections is a boutique practice built around a simple premise: the people who assess a function should have run it. Every engagement is led by the principal — a life-sciences executive with VP-level experience across the functions a deal team most needs to understand — and supported by a vetted network of former operators and practitioners in the specific disciplines each engagement requires.
Why boutique is the right model for this work.
PE diligence doesn't need a large firm — it needs the right expertise on the specific questions the deal turns on. The SVI model is principal-led: every engagement is scoped, integrated, and delivered by the principal. The practitioners brought in for each engagement are former operators in the relevant domain — people who have held VP- or Director-level roles in the function they're assessing. No junior teams, no hand-off layers, no account management between you and the people with the experience you're paying for.
The background that makes the diligence useful.
The value in a commercial diligence read comes from having actually run the functions being diligenced — not from reading about them. The SVI practitioner has held VP-level roles in Strategy, Portfolio Management, Oncology R&D, Corporate Development, Alliance Management, International, and Commercial (Sales and Marketing). That breadth is why the analysis follows the question, not the org-chart boundary of a single practice area.
Improving Investment Decision Quality Through Experience, Insight & Evidence
I started SVI to help investors and leadership teams improve the quality of the decisions that determine value. Over the course of my career, I have worked across nearly every part of the pharmaceutical and medical device value chain — from R&D, sales, marketing, national accounts, and global commercial operations to Strategy & Portfolio Management, oncology drug development, Corporate Development, M&A, and ultimately serving as CEO of a biotechnology company.
I have built and led organizations, licensed technologies, developed therapeutic platforms, advanced oncology assets from early development into the clinic, shaped portfolio and growth strategies, participated in more than $10 billion of M&A, and spent a decade advising pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies.
That experience taught me that rigorous diligence cannot stop with the clinical data, market model, or spreadsheet. The quality of the organization, leadership team, development capabilities, operating plan, and resources available to execute are often just as important to an investment outcome. Two companies can hold essentially the same asset and data package yet represent very different risk-adjusted values because their ability to navigate development, regulatory, commercial, financing, and execution risks is different.
SVI was created to bring that operator's perspective to private equity and venture capital diligence — combining experience, insight, and data to identify the risks and opportunities that matter most, pressure-test the assumptions behind the investment case, and help clients make better-informed decisions with greater confidence.

The practitioner network

SVI maintains a network of 2 or more former operators per domain — ensuring availability and independence across deal timelines. These are former practitioners at VP or senior level, not career consultants.

SVI maintains independence standards across its practitioner network.
